by | Apr 16, 2013

CIDER TUESDAY: Westcott Bay Cider Traditional Dry Cider

Westcott Bay Cider, which sits next to its sister business, San Juan Island Distillery, is tucked into the hill of the Northwest side of Westcott Bay. The cidery is sports one of the older orchards in the state, with some roots dating back to the 1870’s and now has refurbished plantings from the mid-1990’s. Leaning toward a European style of cider, Westcott Bay ciders are made to be crisp and refreshing and is typified in their Traditional Dry cider. Ripe golden apple and pear aromas ring clear with tart green apple and vigorous but balanced acid pushing through the 1.5% residual sugar. The result is a dry, crisp cider as originally pursued.
