DETOX MONDAYS: Silk Road Philospher’s Brew Organic Tea

To indulge in the luxury and leisure of traditional English tea time, Victoria, B.C. is the prime location for an authentic experience. The island takes the title as Canada’s tea capitol and is home to Silk Road, a store and purveyor of fresh and organic teas. Headed up by Daniela Cubelic, a Chinese and Taiwanese trained tea master, Silk Road is considered the elite of tea by media and also creates its own blends from locally grown product. One such is the Philosopher’s Brew, a blend dubbed as an herbal “tea of enlightenment.” The unique blend of lemongrass, citrus peel, rosehips and lavender blossoms invoke Asian-inspired aromas from the lemongrass and citrus, however, the floral components provide a Northwestern feel and warmth to the glass. Bright and piquant, the blend might incite some additional thinking and theorizing to your day.
