WINE WEDNESDAY: Mark Ryan Winery 2012 “The Vincent” Rosé
Woodinville, Wash. wineries and tasting rooms have been growing like weeds the past few years. Some newer, gnarly greenery has been plucked out while some of the established, thriving producers have continued to flourish — Mark Ryan Winery is case and point. Adding tasting rooms (both in Woodinville and Walla Walla), expanding brands (the Boardtrack Racer sister label is already allocated) and selling out of the old familiars (that Viognier does not stay on shelves long), MRW releases an affordable and approachable rosé for the third year under the Boardtrack Racer brand. 2012’s The Vincent Rosé speaks to the season with grapefruit, lemon peel and strawberry aromas front and center, while the palate is fresh and full of vigor in acid.
