The Daily Sip: Laurelwood Brewing Co. Workhorse IPA

BEER THURSDAY: Laurelwood Brewing Co. Workhorse IPA

As Portland’s first brewery to meet the standards of Oregon Tilth and receive organic certification, Laurelwood Brewing Co. launched 12 years ago as a neighborhood joint with a goal to provide good times for friends and family with good beer in hand. Now with five brewpub locations (including one across the Washington border in Battle Ground), Laurelwood is giving more opportunities to get their beer. Arguably Laurelwood’s most sought-after brew, the Workhorse IPA is tried and true American-style India Pale Ale. Standing stout at 80 IBUs with 7.5% ABV, the IPA is still balanced and graceful with assertive citrus-packed hops and sweet, hardy malts that find equilibrium. Boisterous and full of spunk, this IPA aims to please.
