BEER THURSDAY: ELYSIAN BREWING LOSER PALE ALE
Since 1996, Elysian Brewing has been plugged into the Seattle beer scene in both of its Capitol Hill and SoDo locations. Notorious for their rotating seasonal taps and collaborations within the industry (New Belgium in Fort Collins, Co.), Elysian also ties itself to Sub Pop Records, Seattle’s independent record label that broke the mold when signing artists like Nirvana and Soundgarden. In a celebration of the record company’s 20th anniversary in 2011, Elysian brewed its Loser Pale then and hasn’t stopped since. The pale is rich in citrus and orange aromas with undeniable malt and honey tones. The palate is malty and robust, finishing crisp and bold with mild hops in the finish.
