The Daily Sip: Eaglemount Quince Cider

by | Apr 2, 2013

CIDER TUESDAY: Eaglemount Quince Cider

Founded on a homestead property on the Olympic Peninsula of Washington, Eaglemount Wine and Cider have been making cider from their estate orchard since 1996. Using half a dozen heirloom and certified organic apples to produce their ciders, Eaglemount blends in a few other estate-grown goodies into the mix as well, including ginger, raspberry and their increasingly popular quince cider. A puzzling pear-looking fruit in itself, quince also offers up distinctive aromas and flavors that come clear in this cider like those of kindred fruits like pear and apple, as well as tropical fruits like pineapple and guava and savory, herbal and floral tones of violet and honey. The cider finishes honeyed and round but crisp and bright for spring sipping.
