Strange Fellows Brewing Jongleur Belgian-style Witbier

by | Dec 24, 2015

Though you may not instantly reach for a Belgian-style witbier in these darkest days of winter, you can confidently crack the top of a can of Strange Fellows Brewing Jongleur year round.

The French (and Belgian) pronunciation of the word “juggler,” this wit toggles a malted barley and un-malted wheat bill and is fermented with dual Belgian strains. The subtle orange, warming coriander spice and refreshing tangerine notes was just the pour with my Indian curry chickpeas the other night—the bright, light (4.5 percent alcohol) balanced wit a newly crowned “winter sipper.” Vancouver’s Strange Fellows is a collaboration of two smart chaps, Iain Hill and Aaron Jonckheere, with one motto: “West Coast Crafted, Old World Inspired.”
