French born Cyril Fréchier brings decades of industry experience to Phinney Ridge

June 5th 2024. Phinney Ridge, WA. Doe Bay Wine Company has announced that Cyril Fréchier, one of the most respected wine professionals on the West Coast, will be joining their team on Phinney Ridge.

With over 25 years’ experience in the wine industry, Cyril was the Director of Wine and Spirits with Seattle’s prestigious Rover’s Restaurant for 16 years as well as Campagne Restaurant for 7 years, followed by stints with wine distributors American Northwest & Petit Monde Wine Merchant. Mr. Frechier is a Sommelier and recognized French Wine Scholar from Lyon, France as well as WSET certified educator and instructor at South Seattle College’s Wine Technology Program.

Cyril was born and raised in Lyon, France where he caught the wine bug at an early age. After work stints in Chicago and Los Angeles, he and his wife settled in Seattle where a burgeoning food and wine scene was about to burst on the national front. Intense and essential wine studies led to positions in the various fields of the restaurant and wine industry: head-sommelier, program director, portfolio manager, wine educator, brand acquisition specialist, import and distribution professional are some of the functions he’s held over the years.

Cyril says, “I am now very excited to go back to my wine-buying roots as it were, and work with a small team of incredibly dedicated professionals right here in Seattle. Allez!”

Doe Bay Wine Company opened in 2023 and is situated in the “Shared Roof” building on the corner of 70th and Greenwood. Ben’s Bread Co., Holy Mountain Brewing and Lioness share the courtyard with the bottle shop.
