Sea Cider Farm & Ciderhouse Black Applejack

by | Dec 9, 2014

Inspired by the moonshining methods of colonial Americans, Sea Cider Farm & Ciderhouse created this limited edition winter wonder in a perfect slim stocking stuffer size (gift hint).

Black Applejack pays tribute to the method of jacking (distilling) apples into a spirit. The Saanich Peninsula cidery pressed and fermented local apples to a dry cider base and then passed the base to a local Vancouver Island microdistiller who evaporated the cider into an eau de vie. Sea Cider then blended and aged the cider eau de vie with local blackberries and additional cider to create a rich, warming, fortified blackberry cider. Brown butter, cherry jam, baked apples, dark chocolate blackberries and figs come together in a very smooth, rich and silken sipper. Pour with fig pudding and a cold winter’s night.
