Sabine’s Back Bar will now serve as Ballard’s newest private dining space.
SEATTLE, WA – Yes Parade Restaurants (formerly Weimann Maclise Restaurants) announced Sabine Café & Bar, which serves as Ballard’s essential all-day café, is now continuing their vibrant energy into the evenings with full dinner service.
“Opening for dinner has been a request that we have received for a while, and we are at the point where it makes sense,” said Kathryn Meyer, Co-Owner & General Manager of Sabine Café & Bar. “We’re excited to continue the energy into the evenings, with the café open to families, and our lively bar open for upscale drinks and a full dinner menu. There’s a warm feel at night, and we feel fortunate to have the staff and bandwidth to expand our hours.”
“The dinner menu is designed around the idea of several mezze and grilled meats from the coastal Mediterranean, encouraging gathering and sharing of food,” said Jacob Dunkelberger, Sabine’s chef. “I learned a lot about the preparation and cuisine while traveling and cooking for friends throughout the area. I feel particularly inspired by the dishes and ingredients of the region, which is heavily reflected in the new evening menu.”
Dunkelberger also mentioned he will continue to lean on local farms and suppliers to help bolster generous vegetarian and vegan options, which Sabine has become known for given their proximity to the Sunday Ballard Farmers Market.
Other major changes, aside from the menu and hours, include full table service in the evenings. “Sabine’s daytime café will remain casual, counter service, which works for our daytime visitors,” said Meyer. “We have guests coming by for a quick coffee, informal meetings or picking up lunch take-out.” Evenings will transition to full table-service beginning at 4 pm in the café, front bar space and terrace.
Bar Sabine, located directly behind Sabine Café & Bar, became a regular hub for unique, themed cocktail menus. The private back bar will now be available exclusively for private events hosting groups up to 50.Fear not, as the cocktail program finds a happy home expanding into the main bar space at Sabine’s front bar.
