Since their 1988 brewpub commission, Rogue has been a leader of the beverage industry with distinctive packaging, playful product names and estate-grown goods. A respectful and revered empire, Rogue is a charging superpower with 10 locations in Oregon that include breweries, a distillery, two farms for everything from hops to livestock, a couple bed and breakfast stopovers and two out-of-state locations in Washington and California. Now, they move into the realm of cider with their frist release, the 7 Hop Cider.

Using all seven varieties of hops grown at Rogue Farms in Independence, Oregon (these same hops are seen in their 7 Hop IPA), the plants are steeped in Oregon Heirloom and Newtown Pippin apple juice. Pure apple fruit with a solid core of hops streamlining cider into the hands of avid Rogue ale supporters; this cider is straightforward hops and Golden Delicious fruit. Hops grab the mic with unbridled citrus and pine herb aromas but the apple doesn’t let the beat drop, bringing in heaps of juicy apple and finishing crisp and lively. The tart acidity and savory green herbs should support a leafy Thanksgiving salad and its piquant dressing.
