Surrounded by mountain ranges in all but one direction, Oregon’s Willamette Valley has long been a Northwestern hub for Pinot Noir and other cool-climate grape varieties. In fact, Willamette Valley grapes account for 89.5 percent of the state’s Pinot Noir production and 77 percent of its total wine production.
On September 11, more than 60 top winemakers from the region will head north to Seattle’s Sodo Park with cases of their much-loved Pinot Noir in tow, as well as Pinot Gris, Chardonnay, Riesling and other cool-climate blends.
The evening will offer guests an opportunity to sip alongside the vineyard owners and winemakers themselves, and learn firsthand about the process and philosophy behind each bottle and glass. Herban Feast will provide a spread of hors d’oeuvres to nibble between each tasting. Prior to the main festivities, industry professionals have the opportunity to attend an exclusive trade tasting.
