In Preview: Oregon Brewers Festival

by | Jul 9, 2014

Along the banks of the Willamette River at Tom McCall Waterfront Park, downtown Portland will cap off Oregon Craft Beer Month with five days of flowing taps at the 27th Annual Oregon Brewers Festival.

Since July 1988, the Oregon Brewers Festival – one of the nation’s longest-running craft beer festivals – has drawn crowds of microbrew fans with a variety of handcrafted brews from local and nationwide distributors. This year, 80,000 thirsty festivalgoers are expected to sip pints from more than 80 nationwide breweries, with an additional 100 brews available in the Specialty Tent – including tastes from 11 Dutch (and one German) craft brewers.

Slurp on frosty pilsners, IPAs, wheat beers, fruit beers and more while enjoying a selection of on-site eats, live music, homebrewing demonstrations and beer-related displays. For those searching for nonalcoholic refreshment, the Crater Lake Root Beer Garden will provide complimentary handcrafted root beer by the glass (kids welcomed)!

Festival admission is free, while beer, food and other goodies are available for purchase.
