Rose Ann West Coast Amber honors late co-founder of Pike Brewing
SEATTLE, WA – Pike Brewing is proud to announce the release of its newest edition of “Women In Beer” with the unveiling of Rose Ann West Coast Amber. The release focuses on celebrating the invaluable contributions of women to the world of craft brewing, highlighting their creativity, expertise and passion within an industry historically dominated by men. This year’s Women In Beer limited release pays tribute to Pike’s co-founder, Rose Ann Finkel, late wife to founding partner, Charles Finkel.
Pike’s Rose Ann West Coast Amber is crafted with notes of caramel and rye from the malt, as well as piney, tropical and citrus notes from the hops crafted by Pike’s Head Brewer, Leslie Shore. Furthermore, the West Coast Amber features a warm, copper glow with a medium body, slight dry finish and a hop aroma that balances the depth of the grain, clocking in at 5.5% ABV and 35 IBUs. Grains for the craft brew were bred from WSU’s Barley Breeding Program, farmed and harvested on the Palouse, reinforcing Pike’s commitment to supporting WSU’s Beer Brewing Program through the Rose Ann Finkel Foundation. The release will be available in draft and cans at Pike locations as well as at select retail and bar locations across the Puget Sound throughout March.
Charles Finkel, co-founder of Pike Brewing, expressed his enthusiasm for the release, stating, “I am thrilled to see the recognition and celebration of women’s contributions to the craft beer world. Women in Beer is not only a delicious brew but also a symbol of our commitment to honoring diversity and fostering inclusivity in our industry. This release is especially touching for me as it honors the legacy of my late wife, Rose Ann, who was not only my partner in life but also a trailblazer in the craft beer community.”
Throughout March, aptly aligned with Women’s History Month, Pike will be highlighting and profiling impactful women across Washington’s beer industry. On Thursday, March 21, Pike will host its annual Women In Beer event, presented by CougsFirst, at its flagship downtown Pike Pub location. Proceeds from the event as well as a portion of proceeds from beer sales throughout the month of March will once again benefit the Rose Ann Finkel Diversity in Brewing Scholarship as well as Pink Boots Society. The scholarship supports the upcoming Brewery Certificate Program at Washington State University’s Viticulture and Enology program, set to launch in 2024.
This year’s Women in Beer event is going to be an interactive tasting experience filled with food, drinks & other forward-thinking businesses that are leading the charge to accelerate diversity and equality throughout industries across the Northwest and beyond.
