Atticus Wine in the Willamette Valley’s Yamhill-Carlton AVA will celebrate the milestone with a series of special events open to the public this May
Yamhill, Oregon (March 18, 2025) — Atticus Wine, the estate Pinot Noir project from Peruvian-born winemaker Ximena Orrego, has announced it will mark the brand’s 20th Anniversary this May with a special wine release and an exciting series of events in both Portland and at its estate vineyard in the Willamette Valley’s Yamhill-Carlton AVA.
Planned collaborations include a 20th Anniversary Dinner hosted at Atticus Vineyard with acclaimed open-fire cooking specialists Jaret and Mona Johnson of Tournant and a very special winemaker dinner at Andina Restaurant, which has long served Portland’s best expressions of Peruvian cuisine.
“We share this moment with our friends, supporters, and colleagues who all have played an essential role in our Oregon story,” said Orrego. “Our 20th Anniversary will be celebrated the Atticus way—blending elegance with heartfelt warmth, featuring culinary creations that reflect my journey from Peru to the Pacific Northwest.”
Founded in 2005 by Orrego and her husband Guy Insley, Atticus Wine has become a beacon for small-lot, estate-grown wines, distinguished by its sole commitment to Pinot Noir and winemaker-led tasting experiences.
Ximena and Guy’s shared dream of owning a vineyard in their retirement became a reality much sooner than expected after an influential trip to the Willamette Valley in 2004. Captivated by the region’s exceptional Pinot Noir wines and inspired by its collaborative, welcoming community of winemakers and growers, the pair purchased a 50-acre parcel of clover-covered marine sedimentary soils near Carlton and began planting vines and building their family home. The residence remains the enduring centerpiece of Atticus Wine’s warm and thoughtful approach, housing its hospitality offerings, always personally led by Ximena.
Atticus Wine was named to honor Atticus Finch, the moral compass of Harper Lee’s To Kill a Mockingbird, reflecting Ximena and Guy’s dedication to integrity, community, and hard work.
It’s no surprise that the couple has envisioned a 20th Anniversary celebration including their community of chefs, makers, and farmers from Portland to wine country.

“Our first twenty years in Oregon have been the realization of our family’s dream—to cultivate our own vines and craft beautiful wines born from a true labor of love,” says Orrego. “We look forward to sharing both the memories we’ve made and the exciting plans ahead, along with the wines that have emerged from this remarkable journey, with our guests this May.

ABOUT ATTICUS WINE
Atticus Wine is an intentionally small wine brand and estate vineyard located in the Yamhill-Carlton AVA of Oregon’s Willamette Valley, proudly celebrating its 20th anniversary in 2025. Dedicated to crafting small-lot, estate-grown Pinot Noir that reflects the region’s distinctive terroir, Atticus was founded by Ximena Orrego, a Peruvian-born winemaker, and her husband, Guy Insley, a wine enthusiast with French and U.K. roots. Atticus Wine is the result of their shared passion for Pinot Noir, and for winegrowing and winemaking. The Atticus estate spans 50 acres including six acres of Pinot Noir grapes planted to a thoughtful mix of Burgundian heritage clones and a preserved native woodland. The family’s residence serves as the enduring centerpiece of Atticus Wine’s warm and thoughtful approach to hospitality, where Ximena personally guides all hospitality offerings.
The winemaking philosophy at Atticus Wine prioritizes balance, patience, and respect for each vintage’s uniqueness, resulting in elegant and expressive wines. Current releases, like the 2022 Atticus Vineyard Pinot Noir and 2021 X.O. Pinot Noir, showcase nuanced layers of flavor and texture. Guests can experience the wines through private tastings by appointment, hosted by Ximena herself, offering an intimate glimpse into the vineyard’s story and craft. With annual production limited to fewer than 600 cases, Atticus Wine remains dedicated to producing wines of the highest quality while fostering personal connections with every guest.
