Olympia Coffee Roasting Co. Carlos Noriega Micro Lot

by | Nov 18, 2013

Roast Magazine’s 2013 Roaster of the Year, Olympia Coffee Roasting Co. is as unique to capitol city Olympia, as Olympia is unique to Washington state. Independent and idiosyncratic, OCR cuts out the middle man and has a direct relationship with their producers, bringing the beans in and roasting daily by hand—to extract the true sense of place from the crop. They also ship day-of roasted beans to those who purchase online. The Carlos Noreiga is a micro lot purchased during the summer harvest in Colombia, specifically from growers in San Sebastian De La Plata, Huila. Roasted to refinement, the Carlos Noreiga blend has a brightness of pear and apple with honeyed citrus on the nose while the palate is round and nutty, with a soft bitterness and clean finish.
