Nysa Vineyard Aims to Woo Wine Lovers Across the Country

Dundee Hills producer gets busy this winter into spring for tasting events held coast-to-coast

Coming off a busy holiday season, Oregon’s Nysa Vineyard is bouncing into an event-filled winter in early 2025. First up is the Oregon Chardonnay Celebration at The Allison Inn and Spa held February 22, 2025 in Newberg. This year Nysa is pouring their 2022 vintage Chardonnay, and this will be the first year that wine lovers will be able to purchase the Chardonnay they taste at the event.

Then Nysa heads to the World of Pinot Noir in sunny Santa Barbara, CA, February 27 through March 1, 2025. The event, now in its 25th year, puts Nysa in its element surrounded by the finest Pinot Noirs in the world.

Back home in Oregon, Nysa will pour at the 10th Annual Cuvée Stroll held at the Allison Inn and Spa Saturday, March 15, 2025, with proceeds benefitting Yamhill Enrichment Society (YES), which provides access to inclusive literacy and music programs for youth in the Willamette Valley.

April comes on like a lamb April 12 where Nysa heads south for Pebble Beach Food & Wine in Monterey, CA, April 10 through 13, 2025. Spring finishes with Pinot in the City, to be held in Atlanta April 23, hosted by Willamette Valley Wineries Association. This walk-around tasting event brings 50+ 60 wineries from Oregon’s Willamette Valley to the east coast. Also happening April 25-26 is the Destin Charity Wine Auction in Destin, FL where Nysa will be pouring.

Last year Nysa launched its 2023 Nysa Vineyard Marsanne crafted in the Dundee Hills of the Willamette Valley, and the fruit sourced from Threemile Vineyard in the Columbia Gorge AVA. This year follows suit with a Nysa Grenache, to be bottled in April and released later in 2025. This Grenache is unfined and unfiltered, with subtle acidity on the palate, and the grapes grown in Cherryhill Loam sedimentary soil. Like its name suggests, this well-draining soil series is principally used for growing tree fruit. By the time of bottling in April, the Nysa Grenache will have spent seven months in elevage in neutral French oak barrels.

Sitting from 600-720 feet in the Dundee Hills of the Willamette Valley the vineyard enjoys all cardinal aspects with the eastern slope predominant. Nysa was founded by Michael Mega in 1990, when Oregon was home to 330 vineyards compared to today’s 1,411. With 42 acres, currently 20 under vine, Nysa subscribed to what Mega refers to as “patient cellaring,” to allow the concentrated Pinots to fully bloom and express the nuances of each vintage.

Nysa’s wine portfolio is available online and at the tasting room, and includes Marsanne, Blanc de Noir, Rosé, Chardonnay and Pinot Noir.

About Nysa Vineyard:
Planted from 1990 through 2006 on volcanic Jory soil, with basalt bedrock 8 to 12 feet below the surface, the 20 acres of densely spaced dry farmed vines yield highly concentrated fruit. Given this optimum site, the vinicultural goals are to limit crop load, control disease, and allow physiologic maturity to manifest in tandem with optimum sugar and acid levels. More about Nysa’s thoughtfully crafted winemaking is available here on the Nysa Vineyard website.
