New Theatre Spirits Tonic

by | Apr 28, 2014

Victoria-based friends Kyle and Geoff were dissatisfied with the sugary, sweet tonics widely available on our market, so they decided to create their own. New Theatre Spirits‘ Tonic was created with professionals in mind, contains only natural ingredients, and comes in a concentrate form so bartenders can mix with spirits and soda to create their own perfect balance.

The recipe contains Peruvian cinchona bark, agave nectar and loads of citrus (guaranteed to ward off malaria). The concentrate is visually quite distinct. Due to the cinchona bark’s rich color and the dark hue of the agave nectar, the tonic is brown in shade. Full and rich and heady in the mouth, with sweet citrus, the tonic has barely any bitterness but a strong bent for mixing and experimenting. It has been designed specifically to pair with dry, citrus forward gins that will pull back on the agave’s sweetness and showcase the beautiful natural flavors of cinchona bark.
