A new outdoor stage will be a focal point, creating an inviting venue for live music against a backdrop of vineyards and panoramic views of the Rogue Valley. The project will also feature additional spacious lawn areas, space for multiple food trucks, cozy firepits and comfortable outdoor seating areas. Overall outdoor seating capacity will increase from 20 to 80, with additional lawn seating for performances.
The expansion will seamlessly integrate with the existing interior spaces. Complementing the main upper deck and indoor tasting areas are private rooms designed for special events, along with a downstairs lounge featuring exclusive access to a bar and outdoor patio. At completion, the winery will accommodate events attracting large groups for both the indoor and outdoor spaces.

Building History
Built in 1922, Suncrest has undergone many changes over the years. In 1985 the Naumes family acquired the building and the surrounding orchards, initially repurposing it as the farm manager’s residence. Later, under the stewardship of Sister Mary Pat Naumes, the property was transformed into a non-profit retreat center, serving as a communal space for local businesses and organizations until Sister Mary Pat’s retirement in 2018.
Recognizing the potential of the site and structure, the Naumes family decided to renovate the space into a stylish tasting room. In 2019 Naumes Suncrest Winery was unveiled, offering a unique venue for local wine enthusiasts and tourists. Since its debut, the tasting room has seen continual improvements – including a new upper deck, renovated downstairs lounge, and the current expansion of outdoor areas.
Family History
The Naumes family has a profound agricultural heritage rooted in Southern Oregon, spanning more than 100 years. Three generations of family members have farmed in the Rogue Valley, initially establishing themselves in the pear industry. A decade ago, the family diversified into the wine industry with an inaugural vineyard planting of Pinot noir. The family now farms 100 acres of vineyards focusing on eight varietals, as well as 1,000+ acres of pear orchards.
Future Growth & Expansion Plans
As part of a dynamic vision for the future, the Naumes family is dedicated to evolving the experience at Suncrest to meet changing consumer preferences. Plans include an increase in large-scale events with the addition of the tasting room as an elegant wedding venue. Suncrest also plans to diversify wine offerings with the launch of the Naumes Suncrest Winery label this summer. The new label will also be accompanied by an optional subscription service, aligning with market demands and offering a personalized experience for wine enthusiasts.
