Letterpress Distilling Vodka

by | Jan 17, 2014

Proprietor of quite possibly the best name ever and of Seattle’s new Letterpress Distilling, Skip Tognetti had an inkling a few years back after going through keepsakes from his college days. As an art student, Tognetti poured his blood, sweat, tears and tuition into learning the craft of letterpress printing so it seemed only right (and fiscally respectful) to name his distillery after his youthful passion.

Descendent of a Roman liquor shop owner, the spirit was in Tognetti—Letterpress produces a classic limoncello in an ode to his heritage, along with a palate-pleasing vodka. Produced from 100 percent Washington-grown soft white winter wheat and two-row barley, Tognetti strives for “exceptional purity” with the crafting of his vodka, made to wear both hats of a cocktail-friendly spirit and a solo sipper. The Letterpress Vodka is just that (goal achieved!) with a hint of aromatics of vanilla and grain, delivering a palate of similar flavors and smoothness.
