Hoppy trails: Ferment and Oregon Wildlife Foundation raise a glass to red-legged frog rescues

by | Nov 3, 2025

Nov. 3, 2025. Hood River, OR — Ferment Brewing has teamed up with Oregon Wildlife Foundation to release Red Legged Ale, a seasonal hoppy red ale supporting Northern red-legged frogs in Forest Park. Available now for a limited time on draft and in 16oz 4-packs, proceeds from the beer assist in funding the Harborton Frog Crossing project.

For millennia, red-legged frogs have migrated between Forest Park and nearby wetlands to breed, but highways now threaten their journey. To address this, Oregon Wildlife Foundation has commissioned an undercrossing near Linnton, allowing safe passage for frogs and other small animals across Highway 30.

Red Legged Ale is crafted with rolled oats, German wheat, and English crystal malt, infused with local Centennial and Ekuanot hops for a velvety texture and hoppy finish.

“Oregon Wildlife Foundation is honored to partner with Ferment Brewing on this important effort aimed at conserving Northern red-legged frogs into the future,” said Tim Greseth, Oregon Wildlife Foundation Executive Director.

Enjoy a pint at Ferment’s Hood River Tasting Room or find it in on draft and in cans in specialty beer shops in Oregon and Washington. Learn more about the red-legged frogs at myowf.org/frogs.
