Heathen Brewing Transcend IPA

by | Aug 14, 2014

With a crow like “Progressive Ales for the Promiscuous Palate,” the fledgling Heathen Brewing in Vancouver, Wash., is soaring into the Northwest beer scene. Making small batch craft beer with extremely local ingredients, Heathen Brewing is one of the dozen-plus breweries that have quickly popped up in Vancouver, just 10 miles north of Portland, which currently has the most breweries of any city in the world. If they had a flagship beer, Heathen Brewing says their Transcend IPA would be it. Built on a simple grain bill of Northwest Pale, Crystal and Caravienne malts for a darkly sweet aromas and a rich, creamy texture, the Simcoe, Citra and Warrior hops bring pine resin and floral scents out of the pint, with a masterfully balanced finish of peach, citrus, acid and bawdy bitterness.

Watch out Rose City, The Couve is catching up.
