Green Leaf Brewing Les Saisoniers

by | Mar 26, 2015

Outside of producing quality and sustainable beers that taste as good as their ingredients are, North Vancouver’s Green Leaf Brewing Co.‘s goal is to inspire their community “about the wonders of craft beer.” Located in the waterside neighborhood of Lonsdale Quay and sourcing as locally as possible, Green Leaf emphasizes the concept of community in as many ways as they can, like in their spring seasonal that is titled after local seasonal harvest workers. A farmhouse-style ale, saisons were traditionally brewed by farmers in the winter to provide sustenance and payment for their seasonal workers, “les saisoniers.”

The Green Leaf Les Saisoniers is as nourishing and refreshing as a farmhand might hope. This saison is infused with coriander and rose, and with the help of DuPont yeast, the aromas also exude cream, banana peel, bread dough and lemon. The mouthfeel is creamy and filling, full and savory with a spicy, citrus kick to clean it up.
