Georgetown Brewing Double Ramme

by | Sep 25, 2014

It’s been called one of the best places to celebrate Oktoberfest outside of Munich, so naturally we were there. Fremont Oktoberfest celebrated its 18th year at the center of the “brewniverse” this weekend, with festivities spanning from a cloudy Friday through a much sunnier Sunday. Fremonsters, Seattleites and visitors from across the region turned up in spades for a taste of the Germanic festivities.

Just as naturally, my festival favorite was a full-on German style beer. Georgetown Brewing Company’s Double Ramme Doppelbock has a beautifully autumnal caramel-red color and all the raisin, currant and dark dry fruit flavors characteristic of the style, with a hint of chocolate to be found tied up in the rich malty finish. At 8.1% ABV, it’s the perfect way to warm up for the oncoming fall. Prost!
