Flying M Coffee House Blend

by | Dec 28, 2015

Deeply ensconced in Idaho’s roasting scene, Flying M Coffee has upheld its position in its Boise Coffee House since 1992. Ownership at the shop passed a few years back from the founding couple, Kevin and Lisa Myers, to a tenured employee and the roasting duo’s focus moved to the beans at the shop’s Coffee Garage in nearby Nampa, Idaho. With the purchase of a purple Diedrich 12-kilogram drum roaster in 1995, Kevin Myers has been using the small batch roaster to fuel the Boise shop with house blends since.

The House Blend, available in the Boise Coffee House and shipped to your door in a 12-ounce bag within 48 hours of roasting, is a dark roast of beans from Colombian and Papua New Guinea. Rich with chocolate-coated nuts, roasty and smoky aromas draw out the raisins, red berry and cocoa flavors on the palate, finishing deep, sweet and with a flicker of acid, reminiscent of glass of Syrah that’s spent some time aging in oak.
