Family-Owned Tinte Cellars Welcomes Tinte Estates Vineyard to Its Growing Winery Collective

by | May 17, 2021

Located just three hours east of Seattle, Tinte Estates Vineyard is a five-acre vineyard that produces 15-20 tons of quality fruit each year and features seven distinctive blocks planted in European high-density style. Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot, Petite Sirah, and Mourvèdre are currently being harvested at Tinte Estates Vineyard.

“Nearly 50 years ago, Eastern Washington visionary pioneers saw beyond the sea of sagebrush and imagined lush green vineyards nestled on the arid hills of Red Mountain,” said Tim Gamble, who co-owns the Tinte Cellars collective with his wife, Teresa Spellman Gamble. “Now, with more than 2,000 acres of grapevines, the area is lauded as one of the world’s great wine regions.”

Tinte Cellars produces approximately 4,000 cases of award-winning Washington wine annually and has two tasting rooms near its winery in Woodinville, Washington, and a third tasting room in Seattle’s historic Georgetown neighborhood.

“Tinte has grown a great deal since we started three years ago, even amidst the devastating global pandemic,” said Spellman Gamble. “Our passion for Washington wine and our commitment to strengthening the communities that make our wine has fueled us—and continues to do so.”

Tinte Estates’ crop of wine grapes will continue to be sold by contract and for the production of Tinte Cellars wine, and Andrew Schultz and the team at Brothers in Farms will continue to manage the vineyard, said Gamble.

Tinte Red Mountain Retreat

“Our current project is refurbishing the Tinte Red Mountain Retreat,” said Spellman Gamble. “Tinte’s four-bedroom, short-term vacation rental property is nestled in the vineyard and boasts expansive views of Red Mountain, Horse Heaven Hills, and the Yakima Valley.”

The Tinte Red Mountain Retreat will be available for guests in late 2021.

Tinte Cellars does not have plans to open a tasting room on Red Mountain but plans to host pop-ups and vineyard tastings throughout the year.
