At Sip Northwest, we obviously love to quench our thirst. But when we get hungry, we can’t wait to graze. A new brewery, winery, distillery or cidery in the region is always reason to celebrate, but equally as exciting can be new restaurants—especially when they boast a killer cocktail menu or wine list. Here’s a roundup of some new Pacific Northwest eateries to keep in mind the next time your stomach starts rumbling.
Who: Coopers Hall

What: When Chefstable’s Kurt Huffman and Willamette Valley’s AlexEli Vineyard & Winery come together to create the “most extensive on-tap wine program in the country,” expectations are sure to be high. The 8,000 square-foot taproom is set to feature 30-40 wines, all available in to-go growlers, as well as a mouth watering menu boasting a wide selection of rotisserie meats. The taproom and restaurant will be managed by renowned St. Jack sommelier, Joel Gunderson, and the kitchen will be overseen by Ración sous chef, Roscoe Roberson.

What: When two brothers come together to create a seasonally inspired, “farm-to-neighborhood” dining experience, it truly is a labor of love. Barry and Scott Rogel are the brotherly duo behind Brunswick & Hunt, Seattle’s newest farm-to-table style restaurant. Both having extensive experience in the restaurant biz (Barry is the owner of DeLuxe Bar and Grill, and Scott owns the Athenian in Pike Place Market), the two say that Brunswick & Hunt will provide its guests with a “nice” dining experience that isn’t overly fancy. So what can you expect from this highly anticipated restaurant? The menu will feature a seasonally changing variety of items sourced from locally owned farms, and the bar, managed by Eric Holmquist, will boast a selection classic cocktails as well as selection of local beers, wines and spirits.

What: BC’s popular Vancouver Urban Winery opened the doors to its new in-house restaurant, Belgard Kitchen, earlier last week. Offering a lunch and dinner menu, guests can enjoy dining on scrumptious lunch items like fresh-made salads, burgers and soup, while dinner boasts a selection of sumptuous small plates. The winery itself boasts a selection of decadent wines, and here’s the best part—Vancouver Urban Winery will soon be the setting for a new Vancouver brewery as well. No need to pinch yourself, this isn’t a dream. Postmark Brewing is set to open later this spring.
