Chuckanut Brewery located at the Port of Skagit, announces the tapping of a new Pale Ale that uses malt from neighbors Skagit Valley Malting. The local, neighborhood maltster had been closed but recently reopened and are again offering their products grown in the surrounding Skagit, Whatcom and Cascadia area. Chuckanut Pale Ale uses Skagit Pilot Pilsner malts as well as British Maris Otter barley malts. To spice it up WA state Strata and Comet Hops have been added during the brew and dry hopped in the aging process.
Using a basic Pale Ale recipe and Chuckanut ale yeast, this beer has lots of tangerine, grapefruit, lychee and pine flavors. A beautiful Golden color shines in this medium bodied beer. Pair it with chicken wings while you cheer the Seahawks onto victory. Or better yet, pair it with a spicy hot dog while you watch the Mariners in their next win. It’s refreshing just by itself as you contemplate the changing of the leaves and arrival of our fall weather in the NW! Enjoy Chuckanut Pale Ale across the Puget Sound and down into OR. You may even find it in bottleshops in Colorado if you are in the Denver area.
Chuckanut Brewery brews award winning Lagers and Ales and has won Large Brewery of the Year at WA Beer Awards 2017, 2019 and 2021 and Small Brewery at the GABF 2009 & 2011.
