Located in Sherwood at Chehalem Estate Vineyard in the Laurelwood District AVA

Oct 22, 2024, Sherwood, Ore. – In early 2025, storied Oregon winery, Chehalem, will open its new  home at Chehalem Estate Vineyard, an exquisite 6,150-square-foot tasting room just south of Portland  in the Willamette Valley’s Laurelwood District of the Chehalem Mountains American Viticultural Area (AVA). The tasting room marks a significant milestone in the winery’s journey, and guests will soon be  able to savor Chehalem’s wines with a view of the land where they were grown.

Spanning more than three decades, Chehalem is a pioneering, family-owned producer of premium Pinot  Noir and dry white wines that capture the essence of the Willamette Valley. The new tasting room on  Bell Road in Sherwood, Oregon, is nestled among vines and evergreen trees, with sweeping vineyard  views of Mt. Hood and Parrett Mountain.

“Chehalem has long dreamed of having a tasting room with a view of our vines, and I’m so excited that  our vision is becoming a reality,” said Katie Santora, winemaker at Chehalem. “The space will have all  the warmth of our downtown Newberg location but with breathtaking vineyard views so guests can  connect with where our wines begin: in the vineyard.”

Stepping into the new Chehalem tasting room, you’ll find a sanctuary of sustainable winemaking and an  ambiance that harmonizes with nature. The organic mid-century modern design and Scandinavian color  palette are complimented by wood tones and natural materials, inviting guests to pause, savor, and  connect with each sip. The tasting room will have ample indoor and outdoor seating with capacity for up  to 160 guests, including a full kitchen, two standard tasting areas—one with a fireplace, the other with a  tasting bar—a loft lounge, private conference room, and spacious outdoor patio and lawn.

Chehalem’s dedication to sustainability is woven into the fabric of its winemaking ethos. Firmly rooted in their four estate vineyards spread across the Dundee Hills, the Laurelwood District, and Ribbon Ridge— the latter of which are both nested within the greater Chehalem Mountains AVA—every bottle tells a  story of stewardship, quality, and authenticity that resonates with those who value more than just the  taste of the wine, but the journey it undertakes to reach their glass.

“Opening the new tasting room is a meaningful moment for Chehalem, as it allows us to share our deep rooted passion with the world,” said Bill Stoller, proprietor of Chehalem. “This space represents a place  where we can come together and honor the land, vineyards, and art of winemaking. It’s more than just a  tasting room; it’s a testament to our past, present, and the vibrant future we nurture with dedication  and respect.”
