Branch Point Distillery gives back to Shriners Children’s Portland with a special single cask whiskey release.
We’ve bottled our first ever Madeira Cask Finish Oregon Wheat Whiskey in support of Shriners Children’s Portland, and in celebration of its 100 year anniversary.
DAYTON, OREGON – Branch Point joins the community in celebrating the 100 years of truly impactful medical care provided by Shriners Children’s Portland. This collaboration allows us to give back to our community in a meaningful way, with proceeds from each bottle sold supporting Shriners Children’s Portland. As a neurologist, Branch Point’s distiller and co-founder has direct experience with the important work of Shriners. He is grateful for the opportunity during his residency training to have worked with the children and families served by Shriners while rotating through a Shriners outpatient clinic.
For over 100 years, Shriners Children’s Portland has been a beacon of hope, providing world-class care to children across the Pacific Northwest and beyond. They seek to provide the highest quality care to children with neuromusculoskeletal conditions, burn injuries and other special health care needs within a compassionate, family-centered, and collaborative environment; regardless of the family’s ability to pay.

Branch Point’s Cask for a Cause release is a 7 year old, single barrel of our Straight Oregon Wheat Whiskey. Finishing in an ex-Madeira wine cask has added complexity, richness and depth. Our wheat whiskey starts with 75% locally-grown soft white winter wheat with the remainder of the mash bill consisting of malted barley to add additional layers of flavor and body to the whiskey. As with all of our whiskeys it was double-pot distilled before initial maturation in new charred American oak barrels.
Founded in 2016, Branch Point is a small independent distillery that chooses to focus exclusively on grain to glass whiskey and on the premise whiskey should reflect its place of origin. We utilize traditional methods of production such as grain-in fermentation, distillers malt, slow fermentation, double pot distillation, low barrel entry proofs, and non-chill filtration. With each step of production, choices are made to maximize flavor for the creation of delicious whiskeys found nowhere else.
