Capital City Adventures

by | May 16, 2017

While we like to focus on all things “sip”-able in the Northwest, we’re taking it to the next level with bars that are mandatory stops when passing through your capital city. Pay homage to your home state with a craft cocktail or a fresh brew from these local joints.

Capital: Boise, Idaho
Bar: Press & Pony
From the same folks who put Boise on the map for burgers with Boise Fry Co. comes a downtown cocktail lounge focused on handcrafted drinks in an intimate setting. A lively happy hour allows budget-seeking drink fans to engage in a sip or two, and open-minded guests should opt for a bartender’s choice on your selected spirit.

Capital: Salem, Oregon
Bar: Archive Coffee & Bar
This Salem joint is combining two of life’s essentials: coffee and cocktails. Archive is dedicated to bringing guests the best of the coffee world and the best of the bar world in one spot. A coffee roaster by day and a bar by night, Archive mashes up a few of Oregon’s favorite things, from the heart of wine country.

Capital: Olympia, Washington
Bar: Oly Taproom
Situated off the shore of Olympia’s Budd Bay lays the Oly Taproom, a quaint bar with a large selection of the West Coast’s best craft and imported beer. The love child of two pals who shared a passion for brews, Levi Hendricks and Sanrica Marquez put it all on the line to open the taproom. Now a local favorite, the bar is a prime location for the afternoon day-drinker or for a late night gathering with friends.

Capital: Victoria, British Columbia
Bar: Little Jumbo
Take your love for craft cocktails international at Victoria’s Little Jumbo, one of BC’s most raved about gems. Illuminating the streets of Old Town, the bar’s purple elephant signage attracts the customers and from there the food and drinks do the rest. Little Jumbo will take you around the world with its international cuisine that pairs just right with your craft cocktail.
