Caldera Brewing Rose Petal Imperial Golden Ale

by | Sep 17, 2015

“Micro canning since 2005,” Caldera Brewing boasts the title as the West Coast’s first craft brewery to can their beers. Representing as one of the longest-standing breweries in Southern Oregon, Caldera opened their 30-barrel brewhouse and pub in Ashland to meet increasing demands, including a canning line that can pack and process 1,200 cans per minute. The original 10-barrel system has been bestowed the responsibility to journey into the unknown, taking the brunt of the experimental brewing program.

One such pilot beer is the Rose Petal Imperial golden ale, a crisp, lightly malted ale boosted with fragrant rose petals. The flowers are brewed with the ale, comprised of two malts (Premium Two Row and Light Munich) and one hop (Willamette) that is also known for its fruity, floral characteristics. Redolent in flower power and golden malts, this perfumy ale eases up on the petals on the palate as a refreshing tonic of bitter and cream flushes through.
