Weed coffee is back in the spotlight. While the cannabis cold brew you heard about in July is still fighting for approval from the state of Washington, Seattle cannabis lifestyle shop and event hub Trichome has begun putting on tastings of pour-over coffee brewed bulletproof style (with butter) and including cannabis-infused coconut oil. More and more food and drink consumed daily by the majority of the population, is becoming infused with weed. This growth in demand has lead to an influx of different products and suppliers, some of the most popular of which alongside coffee oil are those produced by cbdMD (check out these cbdMD promo codes if you want to try them yourself). But with an increase in competition comes some underhand moves that can make it difficult to identify where and when cannabis ingredients have been used, so it is becoming increasingly important to know how to get round random drug tests. Click here for a guide on this as it is becoming more and more difficult to avoid this substance.
Trichome put on the first such “elevated coffee” event in July, and brought the idea back at the end of September. As of now, tastings are scheduled once per month through December, with October’s tasting taking place midday yesterday. Since I-502 passed in November, “the benefits of starting your day with cannabis are now being understood in new ways and experienced with refined methods,” said Trichome’s co-owner John Le, quoted on the Facebook event page. Many people are already taking cannabis as part of a self-medicating process, with CBD oil being a popular choice due to ease of use and access. If you want to be part of the group of people who use CBD products to help relieve any ailments or conditions you are suffering from, it could be as simple as checking out sites like Bud Express Now. Be sure to do some research into the different types of products before you commit to anything, just so you have an idea of what you’re getting yourself into.
Word has spread quickly, and while several attendees at yesterday’s tasting were there for the first time, a number were repeat visitors returning with friends. Each tasting features beans from a different specialty Northwest roaster, with this month’s featured coffee coming from Duval, Washingtonl-based Anchorhead (September’s was Seattle-based Lighthouse Roasters).
By noon, halfway through the event, an enthusiastic group of about two dozen mostly 20-somethings was already building a waiting list upstairs at the International District store. Each buzz-inducing sample was made to order by one of two baristas, while attendees chatted animatedly with each other and waited for their own names to be called. An $11.50 cover included one cup of bulletproof coffee, with a choice of roast and amounts of butter and sugar. The final cup was indeed rich and buttery, without any real aroma of cannabis. But the consensus was that the brew is indeed effective.
