C.C. Jentsch Cellars 2012 Syrah

by | Nov 26, 2014

From a relatively new producer on the Golden Mile Bench (a region recently approved as BC’s first official Sub-Geographical Indication) comes this stylish and supple Syrah, a key grape for the sun-baked southern Okanagan region. C.C. Jentsch Cellars co-ferments their Syrah with a splash of Viognier—the black flowers, vanillan and peppery cassis notes of the Syrah are well integrated, working with the subtly spiced wood and fresh acidity. Partner with lamb medallions or kabobs. Nice balance here—promising start from this new winery and a fine indicator of what BC’s Golden Mile Bench can produce.
