The BX Press The Prospector

by | Oct 7, 2014

North of Kelowna, British Columbia, you’ll come across the town of Vernon and home to one of the newest kids on the cider scene, The BX Press. A third generation farming family, Dave and Melissa (and their three young daughters) opened The BX Press earlier this year with four handcrafted, artisan ciders available. The history of the family farm and region is depicted on the labels. The Prospector, their flagship cider, is in honor of the prospectors who risked life and limb to seek their fortune in the 1860′s Cariboo gold rush.

This bone dry cider is made from a blend of more than 2 dozen rare bittersweet, dessert and heritage varieties, and is their driest offering. Crisp and lean, with a light tannin grip, concentrated notes of both dried and fresh green apples, lively, fine effervescence and a delicate yellow apple blossom allure. Beauty balance and finesse – finishing fresh and characterful. Looking forward to more from this promising cidery.
