BridgePort Brewing Trilogy 1 Crystal Dry-Hopped Pale Ale

by | Mar 13, 2014

A lot of wineries turned 30 this year and last. That said, not many breweries have entered their third decade—Portland’s BridgePort Brewing, however, has. And in honor of their 30, flirty and fabulousness, the iconic Northwest brewery has released its Trilogy series. The three-part release promotion even gets its own website, fully equipped with a video spelling it all out for beer lovers. The first in the series is the Triology 1 Dry-Hopped Pale Ale, which is built to highlight—you guessed it—the hops of the Pacific Northwest. Crystal dry hops were chosen from Goschie Farms in Silverton, Ore., where the plants have been growing on the family estate for 110 years. Picked for its extreme aromatics, the hops come through with bright citrus and (sorry) crystal clarity. The nose is lit with grapefruit and orange rind, fresh cut grass and a touch of biscuit while the palate sits with medium body, crisp, sharp bitterness and rounding citrus fruit that give it ideal springtime sessionability.
