Hood River, OR – As the craft beer market continues to mature, pFriem Family Brewers is approaching 2026 with a clear-eyed focus on longevity, grounded in the belief that breweries built on quality, collaboration, and purpose will help shape what comes next.
As consumer preferences in the beverage space and beyond evolve, the Hood River–based brewery continues to pursue steady, intentional growth by strengthening and evolving its core lineup, collaborating with like-minded breweries, and continuing to invest in the communities and causes that have defined the brand since its founding.
“As Craft Beer enters into a maturation stage, beer drinkers are standing by brands that have been good to them,” says Josh Pfriem, Co-Founder/Brewmaster. “These breweries create high quality, innovative, reliable beers, while running a solid business that adds value back to the community it serves. The team here at pFriem believes in that mission and this is why we are committed to the beer business and great beer drinking community.”
A new addition to the core line-up – Coming February 2026
That intention is reflected across pFriem’s 2026 beer portfolio, which centers on a refined core of award-winning styles supported by carefully curated seasonal and barrel-aged releases. This February, the brewery will expand its annual core lineup with the addition of Tropical Hazy IPA in 12-ounce 6pack cans and draft, a modern, approachable beer designed to meet evolving drinker preferences while staying true to pFriem’s balance-driven brewing philosophy. The move signals a broader emphasis on innovation and consistency at a time when both retailers and consumers are looking for fewer, more trusted choices. A full release with beer details and photography will follow in early February.
“We are incredibly proud of our core line-up; it reflects innovation, heritage, tradition, flavor, for a diverse set of palates and occasions,” says Josh. “We are excited to announce the launch of Tropical Hazy IPA! This beer is for the drinker who loves soft texture, big topical fruit flavors, lots of complexity, but with even more drinkability. This is a beer to meet the causal moment on a beach, backyard, or an epic adventure.”
pFriem named 2026 Firestone Walker Invitational Collaboration Partner
In mid-April, pFriem will also release a highly anticipated collaboration with Firestone Walker Brewing Company, a partnership rooted in mutual respect and a shared brewing philosophy. The release reflects a natural alignment between two breweries known for technical precision, creative expression, and an enthusiastic long-term view of craft beer’s future. While full details are still under wraps, an official announcement from Firestone Walker, including beer specifics and event timing, will be shared at the end of January.
“Throughout my career, there are few brewing teams and leaders that I have admired more than Matt Brynildson and the Firestone Walker crew,” Josh explains, “I am honored to be friends and colleagues with them. We are absolutely stoked to be part of their annual collaboration celebrating the Firestone Walker Invitational as this has become one of the hallmark annual events of the year in the beer industry. It’s a time when some of the best brewers in the United States and the World gather together to share their best beers with an incredible group of fans and beer lovers. It is a time that celebrates the brewing community, fosters relationships, and a lot of the good times that got us all in the industry. We are beyond excited to collaborate on a beer to celebrate the occasion!”
pFriem Deepens its commitment to community and land stewardship
Beyond the brewhouse, pFriem continues to deepen its commitment to cause-driven initiatives, supporting environmental stewardship and community organizations throughout the Pacific Northwest. The brewery views this work as essential, reinforcing the belief that resilience is built through connection as much as commerce.
“As we have grown, we have been lucky enough to build a network of like-minded organizations that support causes that are essential to our ethos. Whether it’s protecting the water sources that help contribute to the beer that we make, working with organizations that support underserved communities in the region, or protecting the access to recreation that makes the Pacific Northwest the special place it is, we’re always hungry to contribute and do more than our fair share”, said Josh Pfriem.
As the craft beer industry continues to evolve, pFriem Family Brewers is choosing to slow down, focus, and build deliberately. In doing so, the brewery is betting that what endures, quality, collaboration, and community, will matter more than ever in the chapter ahead.
