When this unique smoked beer was launched last year, the team at Vancouver’s Coal Harbour Brewing Co. couldn’t keep up with demand. What was originally envisioned to be a one-off special has become a regular part of their lineup, fortunately for BC beer nerds. One of Vancouver’s newer craft breweries, Coal Harbour has quickly gained admirers for their fresh, cask conditioned ales and adventurous beers—like Smoke & Mirrors Smoked Imperial Ale. This strong, smoky ale is super smooth on the thick and creamy palate, amped with a blend of German Rauch (smoked) and Scottish Peated malts along with chocolate and crystal malts. If this doesn’t warm you on wet coast November days, nothing will! Smoke & Mirrors was named one of the top three “Special Beers” in this fall’s BC Beer Awards.
