Alaskan Brewing Company Imperial India Pale Ale

by | Aug 20, 2015

It started in 1986 with the brilliant creative courage of Geoff and Marcy Larson, who got caught up in the rustic, wild beauty of Alaska and decided to leave their jobs to later open a brewery. Today, almost 30 years later, Alaskan Brewing Company has become one of the most renowned producers of beer in the Pacific Northwest, with their bottles reaching shelves in roughly 17 states across the country.

The Imperial India Pal Ale is part of their Limited Edition Pilot Series, a series that comes from recipes among their own staff members. Any of staff can pitch their brew, and the favorites end up bottled. Upon pouring this IPA, white foam blankets the amber-gold brew, with a light, hoppy aroma coming up to the nose. The beer leads with a subtle malt coating the sweetness of fresh pear, and ends with a refreshingly buoyant and hoppy pine taste, from Summit hops.
