Wine Country Coffee Roasters Colombia Dark Roast

According to Kramer Vineyards winemaker Kim Kramer, her dad (and founding winemaker/owner) Keith started roasting coffee at their Gaston, Oregon winery because he was bored. Kramer, who started the now 18-acre estate winery in 1983 and has since passed the reigns to his daughter in 2008, dubbed his recent side project Wine Country Coffee Roasters—roasting a variety of 100 percent, single origin whole beans from a shiny red roaster on the estate property in the Yamhill-Carlton AVA. The tagline of “fresh-roasted by a winemaker” brings in an additional artisanal sense (if the home-roasting isn’t enough for you) and the Colombia Dark Roast delivers the handcrafted nuances any winemaker would appreciate. The roast is bold and rich with notes of dark chocolate-covered figs, floral tones and a bitter yet toasty and smooth finish.
