Montana Farm-to-Bottle Distillery Fuses Italian Tradition with Western Spirit in Groundbreaking New Release

MISSOULA, MONTANA – October 24, 2025 – Montgomery Distillery, a family-owned farm-to-bottle distillery in Missoula, Montana, announced today the launch of B’Amaro, the world’s first bourbon-based amaro. This innovative spirit bridges Italian and American traditions, combining the smooth richness of well-aged bourbon with the bittersweet complexity of traditional amaro.

B’Amaro starts with Montgomery Distillery’s award-winning Mama Tried Wheated Bourbon as its foundation, then layers in complex botanicals, spices, and fruits to create an entirely original spirit. The result is a versatile offering that works beautifully in classic cocktails like the Negroni, Paper Airplane, or Black Manhattan, as well as in a simple Amaro Sour, or enjoyed neat as a digestif.

“It’s not often that you stumble upon something truly original in the spirits industry,” said Ryan Montgomery, owner of Montgomery Distillery. “But after mixing amaro and bourbon in cocktails for so long, a light just went off for us: let’s make an outstanding amaro blending Italian and Western traditions.”

The 60-proof spirit reflects Montgomery Distillery’s commitment to quality and innovation. For 13 years, the family business has practiced old-world distilling techniques while growing most of their own grain on a family farm in Montana. This farm-to-bottle approach ensures only the finest ingredients make it into every bottle.

B’Amaro launched in Montana in October 2025 and is projected to expand to Washington and Massachusetts in November 2025. The spirit is available at a suggested retail price of $29.99.
