Simple Goodness Sisters launched in 2018, the product of Washington-born-and-raised sisters Venise Cunningham and Belinda Kelly’s passion for entrepreneurship, hands-on agriculture, and outstanding food and drink. Their blue-collar upbringing with strong role models led them to break into the industry by first introducing a mobile “cocktail camper” for events, then bottling their handcrafted drink syrups, and eventually by purchasing the Simple Goodness Soda Shop, where they serve light fare, beer, wine and cocktails, as well as their entire line, from a rhubarb vanilla syrup to Espelette spiced rim salt. Almost all ingredients are grown on the Simple Goodness Farm in Buckley, Wash., but the ingredients that can’t be are bought from ethical retailers with the same attention to detail.
Blueberry Lavender Popsicles
Makes 6-8 ice pops
INGREDIENTS
- 6 ounces of vodka
- 1/2 cup fresh lime juice
- 1/2 cup Blueberry Lavender simple syrup (or any other Simple Goodness Sisters syrup of your liking)
- 2 cups blueberries
- 1 cup coconut water
DIRECTIONS
Puree all ingredients in a blender until smooth. Pour into popsicle molds and add sticks or follow manufacturer’s instructions for freezing. Freeze for a minimum of six hours. This recipe fills eight standard molds. Do not exceed the ratio of 1:4 alcohol to mixer liquid, or the pops will not be able to freeze.
Not imbibing? Skip the alcohol for fresh and sophisticated ice pops. Turn them upside down in a flavored seltzer water for a fun slushee presentation.
