Sineann winemaker and owner Peter Rosback pushes the regional envelope. Sineann was founded in 1994 with Owen Roe’s David O’Reilly in Newberg, Ore. but the wines are far from exclusively founded in Oregon. After traveling around the states and across the globe, Rosback now sources fruit from vineyards in Marlborough, New Zealand for his Sauvignon Blanc and White Table Wine, Zinfandel and Cabernet Sauvignon from Columbia Valley in Washington, Merlot from Paso Robles, Calif. and, of course, Pinot Noir from some of the most reputable vineyards in Willamette Valley, including Yamhill-Carlton’s Resonance Vineyard Pinot Noir. A difficult vintage for both growers and producers, the 2011 Resonance Vineyard Pinot Noir proves that scrupulous, biodynamic farming and diligent winemaking can lead to a vibrant and lush wine regardless of where the chips fall. Young and clean, scorched earth and black tea aromas battle for the spotlight with ripe, dark berry fruit, while acid and easy tannins round out the mouthfeel.
