The Northwest is a hotbed for mint—according to Washington State University, Washington is the top-producing mint state in the nation, producing the most spearmint and peppermint. Oregon is the second largest producer of peppermint and the fourth largest of spearmint. Idaho falls in line as the third largest producer of all mint period.
