by | Feb 19, 2025

Portland, Ore. (February 19, 2025) – 82 Acresa chic neighborhood restaurant from the owners of Abbey Road Farm and celebrated chef Will Preisch, opens today at SE Clinton Street and SE 21st Avenue. The restaurant offers an accessible farm-driven menu highlighting the bounty of the Pacific Northwest.

Executive Chef Will Preisch, who also oversees the kitchen at Abbey Road Farm, brings his experience from renowned Portland restaurants like Le Pigeon and Holdfast, which he opened alongside Chef Joel Stocks, as well as a number of national and international stalwarts. Chef Preisch staged at award-winning restaurants in Iceland, Denmark, France—and several restaurants across the United States that had their own farms, including Manresa and Ubuntu. Chef Preisch’s menu at 82 Acres is approachable but also pays homage to the caliber of restaurants where he has worked.

“It’s been a dream come true to lead a restaurant that has its own farm,” said Chef Preisch. “We’re excited to share what Abbey Road Farm grows and raises with Portland diners here at 82 Acres.”

The menu features small and large plates created around seasonal vegetables as well as Pacific Northwest meats and seafood. Many ingredients are sourced directly from Abbey Road Farm’s 82-acre estate in Carlton, where Culinary Farmer Katelyn Sharpe and Animal Program Manager Ashley Van Meter oversee sustainable farming practices.
On the opening menu at 82 Acres, guests will find carrot falafel with herb yogurt and chili crisp; mussel escabeche toast with saffron aioli, pickled fennel, and Abbey Road Farm herbs and flowers; charred cabbage with smoked onion purée, garlic confit-whey glaze, and garlic chips; sunchokeswith maple, miso butter, preserved citrus, and black lime; 1/2 roast chicken, a three-day process, with brown butter jus and herbs de Provence.

cheese cart will soon debut, featuring Abbey Road Farm’s honey and jam alongside a curated selection of imported and local cheeses. Two desserts round out the menu: French toast with custard, chocolate cremaux, espresso white chocolate crumble, and olive oil, and a date cake with yeasted caramel, and lees whipped cream.

The beverage program highlights wines from Abbey Road Farm, which grows 16 grape varieties on its estate vineyard. Signature cocktails at 82 Acres include Meunier After Midnight, made with bourbon, lemon, demerara, and an Abbey Road Farm Pinot Meunier float. The drinks menu also features non-alcoholic options such as the Forbidden Fruit, made with Wilderton, pomegranate orgeat, and lime.

The dining space is designed to be cozy and inviting, with soft lighting and a calm atmosphere centered around an open kitchen. A striking dark purple wall showcases framed black-and-white photos from Abbey Road Farm, while a glass garage door at the back opens to a covered patio surrounded by greenery. The restaurant seats 38 in all.
