Beers Made by Walking and Washington Wild Team Up
for the 2017 Seattle Hike Series

[Content copied from original press release.]

Now in its sixth year, Beers Made By Walking (BMBW) returns to Seattle! BMBW invites brewers to go on nature hikes led by volunteer naturalists and brew beer inspired by plants found on the trail. All the breweries participating are Partners of the Brewshed Alliance, which currently has over 50 Washington breweries on board. This Washington Wild outreach program helps people make a simple connection: healthy watersheds mean clean water, and clean water makes better beer.

Come out and join Washington Wild for a day on the trail, enjoying the outdoors and hanging out with some of the breweries that are behind protecting clean and healthy watersheds in Washington State. Each hike is free and open to the public, but RSVPs are required. Hikers are accompanied by local brewers who must create a hike-inspired beer in the fall for a special BMBW tapping event where you can try all the nature-inspired brews at once. A list of hikes and sign ups are available below.

These place-based beers serve as drinkable, landscape portraits of the trails that are walked. Tapped during special events at Naked City Brewery, the proceeds are donated to the Washington Wild. The full list of beers will be published after the hikes are completed, but you can see hike dates below if you’d like to add them to your calendar. We can’t wait to get outdoors with our volunteers, Brewshed Partners, and you!
