TeaVert Mao Feng Green Tip

by | Sep 15, 2014

For TeaVert founder and CEO Larissa Simontov, drinking tea is about the experience. Growing up in Таshkent (an ancient city now in Uzbekistan on the Great Silk Road from China to Europe), Simontov started her Seattle-based company on the premise that tea was the drink of everyday life, to be enjoyed and experienced with different people and ranging cultures. TeaVert strives to give its consumers “a memorable tea experience,” with premium quality, eco-friendly and sustainable teas, like the Mao Feng Green Tip. Roughly translating to “fluffy mountain peaks,” this tea is light and feathery with sweet, easy aromas of stone fruit and citrus while the palate is clean and refreshing yet lingering with earthiness and grass.

Four Seasons Hotel Seattle recently introduced the premium, single-origin whole leaf teas from TeaVert into the expansive hotel services offerings, including TeaVert’s Mao Feng Green Tip and more. Bringing in the locally-based, authentic tea was an easy decision for Four Seasons Hotel Seattle Executive Chef Kerry Sear. “The fact that TeaVert is a Seattle-based company and they use sustainable harvesting practices and biodegradable products were even more reasons for us to partner with the company and be the first to introduce it,” says Chef Sear. Four tea blends are available in ART Restaurant and two through In-Room Bistro, with in-room menus printed in English and Chinese.
