Rain City Spirits “Drip” Coffee Liqueur

by | Aug 2, 2013

Rain City Spirits‘ founder and distiller Cory Duffy places a new definition behind the word “handcrafted.” The Seattle restaurant veteran and homebrewer built a lot of his distilling equipment himself, also producing, bottling and labeling his spirits solo or with handy dandy local volunteers. With a couple years in the bag, Rain City Spirits is now distilling their King Street Vodka and Drip Coffee Liqueur. The latter is a collaboration with Seattle’s Caffe Vita, using their cold brewed Queen City blend, melded with Rain City’s flagship vodka and pure cane sugar for sweetness. Cold brewing achieves bright crispness and citrus from the coffee without astringent acidity, so the coffee influence on the liqueur is rich and robust. All you need is a glass with a couple of rocks and three fingers worth of Drip for a boozy take on an Americano.
