5 Fall Events Full of Cider

Forget pumpkin spice, true fall fanatics know that cider is the go-to drink of the season. As temperatures begin to drop with the seasonal transition from summer to fall, there’s a plethora of upcoming cider-centric events all over the country to raise your spirits. Take a peek at the list below and sip away your heart’s desire at one of these great events.

Mendocino County Fair and Apple Show | September 15-17 | Boonville, CA | Enjoy this annual celebration of all things Mendocino at the fairgrounds in Boonville. Beginning in 1924, this festival seeks to highlight the plethora of Anderson Valley apples and other local beverage producing fruits with events like the California cider competition, a wine competition, and much more. Ticket prices vary, check website for details.

The Virginia Cider Festival | September 16 | Fredericksburg, VA | This self-proclaimed “hard cider event” is a day-long celebration of all things cider in the Commonwealth. Featuring over 60 ciders from more than 25 producers all over the country, this festival will also highlight many of the state’s own cideries as live music plays while people enjoy great food and sip on scrumptious fall ciders. Tickets range from $10 to $40.

Cider Week Finger Lakes | September 29 – October 8 | Greater Finger Lakes | Celebrating New York’s rich and longstanding history with craft cider, this festival takes place in the Finger Lakes region of the state and is spread out over seven days and 50 locations. Sip on crisp regional ciders and widen your understanding of cidermaking at various tastings and workshops held throughout the week. Check website for ticket and event information.

The 4th Annual Cider Swig | September 30 | Gig Harbor, WA | Held in the quaint seaside community of Gig Harbor outside of Seattle, the proceeds for this day-long festival will go to the Lu Winsor Environmental Grants program. Enjoy tasting a range of 90+ ciders from two dozen local cidermakers while listening to groovy tunes and eating delicious foods. Ticket prices vary, check website for details.

Milwaukee Cider & Nano Beer Fest | October 7 | Milwaukee, WI | Cozy up to fall at this beverage bonanza held at Schiltz Park. Enjoy unlimited 3-ounce free samples of over 70 varieties of craft cider and beer from some of the best brewers and cidermakers in the state. This fun-focused fest will feature live music and entertainment to perfectly accompany all your cider sipping desires.Ticket prices range from $15 to $65.
