Youngberg Hill 2011 Cuvee Oregon Pinot Noir

by | Sep 11, 2013

Originating with a sustainably-driven practice, McMinnville, Ore.’s Youngberg Hill Vineyards moved further into their stewardship from organic farm to now biodynamic agriculture. Now owned and operated by the Bailey family, Youngberg Hill’s Oregon wines are produced mainly from the 24-year-old estate and are titled after the vineyard blocks that their three daughter’s lend their names to. The vineyard is also home to a full-functioning inn and scenic venue site for weddings, reunions and more. The 2011 Cuvee Oregon Pinot Noir is a blend of Natasha and Jordan blocks, along with a small amount of fruit from a neighboring vineyard. Bright bramble berries fill the bouquet with raspberry, blackberry, cranberry and cherry along side nutmeg and cardamom. The palate is equally vibrant with cherry and raspberry, bright acid and approachable, fine-grained tannin.
